Mabiletsa re-joins BCP

Former Botswana National Front (BNF) vice-president, Isaac Mabiletsa, joined the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) last Thursday after serving the BNF for 35 years.

This is not the first time Mabiletsa has defected from the BNF to join the BCP. In 1998, he left the BNF after the infamous Palapye incident that split the BNF and birthed the BCP.

Speaking in an interview with The Monitor on Friday, the Kgatleng East Member of Parliament said he feels at home in the party that he founded. "The BCP and the BNF are not dissimilar ideologically. It is just that at the moment there is a difference in the way the parties are administered," he said.
