Mabiletsa off to Congo-Brazzaville

Kgatleng legislator Isaac Mabiletsa has left for Congo-Brazaville, where he will capacitate as an elections observer.

Mabiletsa is part of a delegation from the Pan African Parliament assigned to observe the country's elections and promote a democratic and peaceful ambience. They will be joined by other delegates from the African Union Commission.

In an interview, Mabiletsa said the delegates were tasked with ensuring that the elections are free, fair and conducted in a credible manner, in accordance with AU and other stakeholders' requirements. Before the elections, the delegation is expected to sit for an orientation and meet with different stakeholders and after that, they will be deployed to their respective areas in partisan of three. Besides observations, Mabiletsa said they will visit political campaign points as well as government media houses, to determine coverage and note that it is fair to all contesting parties.
