Lobatse police to vacate inhabitable houses

LOBATSE: District Number 4 officer commanding, senior superintendent Alakanani Makobo yesterday revealed that some police officers in Lobatse will be relocated to temporary places of residence pending renovation of their dilapidated staff houses.

Several police staff houses in Peleng, which are a cause of concern for some officers, need urgent maintenance due to leaking water pipes, dripping roofing, open sockets and uninsulated electricity cables.

Makobo said they are still in talks with Botswana Housing Corporation to temporarily lease houses for the officers who will be relocated during maintenance.
