Life downhill after repossession of wood

MAKOMOTO: After the repossession of wood at Makomoto, all parties involved are trying to stand their ground but the fact remains that the change has had a negative economic impact on the residents of Makomoto.

The residents of Makomoto say that after the government repossessed firewood that  they sold, survival has gone down the slope.

Maitamo Sanga who runs a tuck shop at Makomoto says: "My main customers used to be the wood sellers and now they do not have money. They have nothing to do except unreliable piece jobs so I have to give them stuff here on credit and it's hard for them to pay me back," she said.
