Lets tackle emerging HIV/AIDS issues Monyakeng

Gaborone District Officer Mothibi Monyakeng has urged participants at a mid-term review of the National Strategic Framework (NSF) for HIV/AIDS regional workshop on emerging issues of implementation, to be realistic and face fundamental issues.

He told the four-day all districts workshop held at Boipuso hall to look at the challenges faced by the NSF and their gaps. Without addressing fundamental issues, where are we going?

He suggested that they look at gaps in policies, in cases of street children, he advised that people should not only look at the boys but also at how the girl child is protected.  Monyakeng said that sex workers cannot be disowned and mentioned that there has been much talk about provision of condoms to prisoners associated with promoting homosexuality, however he said that those same people would later be joining mainstream society.
