Let's not frustrate investors - Makgato-Malesu

Minister of Trade and Industry Dorcus Makgato-Malesu has warned licensing committees not to frustrate entrepreneurs and potential foreign investors.

Addressing local authorities, private sector and employees from her ministry in Gaborone recently, Makgato-Malesu said regulatory powers vested in government officials should not be used to whip away potential investment.

"We need to facilitate the transactions rather than frustrate them," said the minister cautioning against tedious routines that applicants for trading licences normally have to endure.
