Letlhakane Police Station commander, Superintendent Michael Maphephu told Mmegi Online that the hit-and-run accident occurred on Sunday along the Francistown-Letlhakane road. Furthermore, the accident happened approximately three kilometres away from Letlhakane village. Maphephu stated that a passerby discovered the teen severely injured and lying on the side of the road with multiple bruises.
The passerby reported the incident at the scene to the police who sent the victim to Letlhakane Primary Hospital where doctors certified him dead. “We are still on the hunt for the suspected motorist as we found some debris (broken glasses) suggesting that the deceased was hit by a vehicle which did not stop at the time,” Maphephu further revealed.
