FRANCISTOWN: Police in Letlhakane are investigating three cases of rape which occurred last week in their policing area.

The Letlhakane Police Station commander, Superintendent Michael Maphephu told The Monitor that the first incident took place last Wednesday night. According to Maphephu, it was alleged that a 15-year-old girl of Tawana was raped by his 36-year-old neighbour.

He said the neighbour sneaked into the young girl’s house in the absence of her parents and sexually assaulted her. Maphephu stated that when the young victim’s parents returned home, she shared the devastating news of the incident with them and they reported the matter to the police.
