Learn to police yourselves - traffic police chief

As the Independence holidays get under way, Botswana Police's Director of Traffic Division, Senior Assistant Commissioner, Bruno Paledi has called on motorists to police themselves.

Speaking in an interview yesterday, Paledi said they want to establish a road safety culture where individuals will police themselves.  

He said you do not have to put on a safety belt "to avoid a traffic fine but because you are concerned about your own safety".  Paledi said this is the message that they want to inculcate into motorists.
