The owner of Mathandokuyenzelwa House, the office complex rented by Mogoditshane sub-district council, says he has no gripe with the Kweneng District Council (KDC) following councillors' allegations that the council might have leased the property through dubious means.

Contacted for comment, Fidelis Ncube told Mmegi yesterday that he had heard of the allegations through the media. "So I would suggest you get it from them. If they have a problem they can come and talk to me. They go around soiling my name; I don't know what they are up to. But I have the lease agreement and don't need to bother them. They are good tenants and are paying their rental as per the lease agreement, so I don't have a gripe with them," he said.

The matter was referred to the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) after councillors questioned the procurement of the building by council officers, who are accused of flouting established procurement protocols.
