Day in and day out thousands of Botswana's unemployed line up for jobs at the country's labour offices and any place that looks like an operating business, looking for jobs.

The victims of unemployment range from semi-skilled rural migrants seeking jobs in the cities, to university graduates. Below, staff writer RYDER GABATHUSE describes the plight of the multitudes of jobless citizens.
