MOLEPOLOLE: Kweneng district councillors have complained that government officials, more especially ministers, do not take them seriously, as whenever they table motions and questions they don't get responses.

The council's chairman Motlhophi Leo echoed this on Thursday, during a council meeting that ended on Friday. He told Local Government Minister, Peter Siele that they are not happy with the way the ministers and other government officials treat them. Leo said that the council has been tabling motions to different officials on various issues that affect their communities. He added that they have also sent questionnaires to different government offices where they unfortunately, were not given responses.

"The government does not take us seriously. We are never given answers and this fails our efforts to work with our communities. We would like you Honourable minister, to discuss the matter with your people on our behalf and find out what might be causing the delays," he pleaded with the minister.
