Kwelagobe votes BDP over Union

Presidential Affairs Minister Daniel Kwelagobe certainly knows which side his bread is buttered. Yesterday morning he allegedly risked the wrath of unions when he missed a scheduled meeting with them to attend a BDP special congress at Boipuso.

While Kwelagobe told the media that he had prior to the meeting informed unions that he would not be able to attend the scheduled meeting because of the BDP congress unions say they feel let down ."The minister had informed us in an official correspondence that we would meet on Thursday morning but we pitched up at his office and he was not in. Our efforts to contact him were futile as his cellphone was off," said Eric Ditau of BOSETU.

According to Ditau the meeting had brought representatives from some dissatisfied unions to engage the minister on the recent award of 15 percent across the board salary increase in the public service which unions feel is inadequate.
