Kickstart thrives in the shadow of the alcohol levy

The youth empowerment grant scheme of Kgalagadi Beverages Trust (KBT), Kickstart, continues to transform the lives of youths who would otherwise, be unemployed as it reaches out to more of its targets.

 Group Managing Director, Lehlohonolo Matsela, presents this picture and says it pleases them. "We are teaching them to fish rather than give them fish," Matsela says.

"It is pleasing to see how their lives have changed." He was speaking in an interview following another Kickstart launch. Currently Kickstart is the only youth grant scheme by a private company in Botswana.
