As the country plunges deeper into crisis, MPs from both the ruling party and opposition parties have vowed to find a solution to the ongoing strike within seven days.

Chairman of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) backbenchers, Mmoloki Raletobana said last week that they will meet this morning and "one way or the other we will find a solution to this strike". He said that as politicians they have the interests of the people at heart and those who do not, will continue to ignore the crisis.

"As parliamentarians and representatives of the people, we can't keep on ignoring this situation and expect civil servants to deliver. We are politicians and these people are our voters. One way or the other we should solve the problem," he said. The outspoken MP, who was among the MPs who supported the salary increment for civil servants, said during the February meeting that, it looked like there is one individual who is the main problem in all this mess. "Our concern is that we want this strike to come to an end," he said.
