Khama moves to thwart BDC investigation?

Cabinet is reported to be preparing its ammunition to block the National Assembly from appointing a special select committee to investigate allegations of corruption and maladministration at the Palapye Fengyue Glass Project.

This comes just a few days after Parliament unanimously adopted a motion by the South East South Member of Parliament, Odirile Motlhale, requesting it to appoint a special select committee to investigate allegations of corruption at Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) and the project.

Mmegi has information that the Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Ramadeluka Seretse and  some other ministers are lobbying MPs to reject the appointment of the committee, after a meeting with President Ian Khama this week.
