Khama kicks VIPs out of meeting

FRANCISTOWN: Palpable shock and disappointment marked the faces of senior civil servants, heads of parastatals and private sector executives as they trudged out of City Hall here apparently on orders of President Ian Khama yesterday.

In a barefaced display of bias, journalists from the private media were also ordered out, while a Btv crew and a BOPA reporter were left behind to cover a meeting to be addressed by President Ian Khama at the chambers of the Francistown City Council.

"Please excuse us, you will not be part of today's proceedings," the District Commissioner, Richard Oaitse, announced soon after whispering into Khama's ear, after the President had taken his seat at high table.
