Khama creates poverty - Mmolotsi

Francistown South MP Wynter Mmolotsi has accused President Ian Khama of abusing his powers by killing small citizen businesses so that they become dependent on his programmes - Ipelegeng, backyard gardening and blanket donations.

Responding to Khama's State of the Nation Address on Tuesday, Mmolotsi said  Batswana used to harvest Mophane worm, thatching grass and firewood for a living, but are now expected to possess permits to enjoy the natural resources.

The MP cried that, on the other hand, big chain stores are given leeway to sell everything from auto spare parts to chicken feet. He argued that the government is so determined to impoverish Batswana and make them heavily dependent on handouts so that the beneficiaries view the donor as the messiah.
