Khama attacks opposition parties and private media

SELEBI-PHIKWE: President Ian Khama has attacked opposition parties and the private media for hurling insults.

During the commemorations of the 50th anniversary of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) over the weekend, he said opposition parties are only good at insulting people in Parliament with the private media acting as the outlet of the abuses.

He said the opposition is not ashamed of telling Batswana lies and writing untruthful things about him in the private media. He lamented that some Batswana believe the nonsense from the opposition parties and vote for them during elections. "You should respect each other as Batswana and members of opposition parties have lost our culture of botho. You cannot rule a country when you do not have manners.
