Kgosi Moffat Sinvula has appealed to women to use female condoms, especially those who trade as sex workers.

Commenting on the National AIDS Coordinating Agency (NACA)'s presentation on the fight against the HIV/AIDS pandemic at the ongoing House of Chiefs meeting, he said most women do not bother carrying female condoms and instead rely on their male counterparts to provide condoms during sexual intercourse.

He appealed to NACA to sensitise women on the use of female condoms, "Ga ke itse gore a kana ba palelwa ke go di seta sentle (Maybe they don't know how to insert them correctly)," he said amidst laughter. Kgosi Simvula revealed that the situation is worse where he comes from, adding that women prostitute themselves to truck drivers but do not use the condoms. He said they may be enticed by the fact that they are paid more money when they don't use condoms. The kgosi further complained that it has become the norm for women to expect their sex partners to provide condoms. "This worries me a lot because when a man doesn't have a condom, the two end up engaging in unprotected sex, hence the spread of diseases," he said, adding that some women take action only after a problem arises and sometimes claim to be have been raped.
