Kgoroba Laid To Rest

Former cabinet minister, Kgeledi George Kgoroba was buried at Block Five cemetery in Gaborone on Saturday in a ceremony attended by former president Festus Mogae.

Other dignitaries at the burial were the Minister of Local Government, Ambrose Masalila, Mogoditshane MP, Patrick Masimolole, Assistant Minister, GUS Matlhabaphiri, former cabinet minister, Thebe Mogami and former first lady Olebile Masire.

Speakers at the funeral described Kgoroba as a community builder, educationist and a symbol of love. The 75-year-old Kgoroba passed away last Monday at a hospital in South Africa where he had gone for a series of check-ups. The former teacher and Mogoditshane MP served as Commerce and Industry Minister and ended his cabinet career at the Ministry of Education. His nephew who nursed him during his last days, Ntebo Kgoroba, said that his uncle was a loving person who never forgot or missed special occasions in the family.
