Kedikilwe launches 'efficient power use' campaign

Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) launched the National Electrification Efficiency Campaign in Tlokweng last Saturday.

Launching the programme, Minister of Minerals, Energy and Mines, Ponatshego Kedikilwe said the electricity shortage affected SADC and Botswana is upbeat about creating awareness among the users on the importance of saving power.
He said government is committed to ensuring reliable electricity supply to drive the national economy, adding that the onus is on the users to use power sensibly for the benefit of the country.

The minister underscored the national focus on electricity conservation by generating more awareness on the best use of the commodity among all stakeholders.
He highlighted the personal action initiatives that need to be taken by all societal players. He urged the users to switch off appliances when they are not in use and the message should be communicated to parents and friends.
