KDC chair asks Khama to intervene in Kgatleng impasse

The chairperson of the Kgatleng District Council (KDC), Tona Mooketsi, has appealed to President Ian Khama to intervene in the on-going impasse between Bakgatla royals and government.

Speaking at a full council meeting yesterday attended by Khama and members of his Cabinet, Mooketsi said he hopes that Khama's recent visits to Kgatleng would usher peace between the parties.

He also described Vice President Mompati Merafhe, who will be leaving office end of this month due to ill health, as a true statesman who found it fit to pass on the baton.
