KCS calls on Batswana to protect the environment

Botswana has been implored to balance the need to grow the economy, improve infrastructure enhance skills and productivity of its people, as well as manage its natural resources sustainably.

Acknowledging that this is not an easy task for any country and no country had yet found the perfect balance, the chairman of African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), David Thomson, still called on Botswana to better manage its natural environment for human development.

Thomson, who was officiating at the annual Kalahari Conservation Society (KCS) dinner dance in Gaborone last Friday, said protecting the environment should not be someone else's responsibility. "It should be a challenge we're all willing to accept," he said.
