Kasane man gets claim processed after 25 years

The Chobe Sub District Council employed the deceased, a gentleman from Kasane, as a Labourer on 16 June 1980.

About a year later, in 1981, he suffered 30 percent permanent-partial injury to his back when he fell off a moving tractor belonging to his employer.

His compensation claim for the injury was not processed until years later when the poor man had even long passed on. Delay after delay led to the claim only being paid in March 2006, 25 years later! Compensation amounting to P 6, 104.40 was paid to the deceased's daughter who was duly identified as the rightful beneficiary.
