Kapinga is new High Commissioner to SA

The former deputy commissioner of Botswana Police Service (BPS), Kenny Kapinga is the new Botswana High Commissioner to South Africa. He was silently moved to Pretoria late last year.

Kapinga was re-deployed from BPS last year under a cloud of controversy with claims from some quarters that he was the rightful person to lead the police upon departure of current Commissioner, Thebeyame Tsimako who is due for retirement this year.

There were unconfirmed reports that Kapinga was not in President Ian Khama's good books and the re-deployment was a form of punishment.
