Botswana National Front (BNF) activist, Gabriel Kanjabanga, has dismissed the ongoing unity talks involving the opposition parties, describing them as a non starter.

The BNF hardliner is against the proposed umbrella model which he insists would usher in a new party.  "I don't think it can take opposition parties anywhere.  I can't support a unity model that seeks to destroy the BNF," Kanjabanga charged.

Kanjabanga, who is the former president of the BNF youth league and a lawyer by profession, interprets the umbrella as a new party.  He said the umbrella party is going to have its own symbol and colour that would be different from those of the BNF.  He explained that it would be the umbrella party that would contest the elections and not the BNF.
