Kalayakgosi raises funds for Bobirwa disadvantaged

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The newly established Kalayakgosi Foundation Trust, the first of its kind in Selebi Phikwe, recently hand a fund raising dinner to raise funds for marginalised and disadvantaged people in Bobirwa.

The foundation was formed in October last year with the objective of complementing the government's efforts in helping the disadvantaged. The foundation's director, Barongwa Kalayakgosi who also donated a sum of P5,000, said the foundation specifically deals with children's rights, women empowerment and issues of advocacy for the marginalised.

According to Kalayakgosi: "Children are a pure investment that every nation should take responsibility to nurture. On the same note, we believe that women are important in raising children and when empowered, women will be able to nurture children in a manner that will be appropriate to their welfare".
