Kalafatis witness demands P11m in damages

Joseph Piet, one of the two men who were with John Kalafatis when he was shot and killed, is suing government for P11 million.

Piet was in the front seat when Kalafatis was gunned down, allegedly by security operatives in Gaborone two months ago. In the driver's seat was Ray Gare, another Gaborone resident.

Yesterday, lawyer Gabriel Kanjabanga of Kanjabanga and Associates, for Piet, delivered a letter of demand to the Attorney General's Chambers indicating that as a result of the Kalafatis murder their client suffered a number of injuries.
