BCP has over the years been releasing the Democracy Alert issue and the first issue of 2022 released recently is meant to tackle judicial independence.
Last month, Justice Gaolapelwe Ketlogetswe claimed that Chief Justice Terrence Rannowane and the Minister of State, Kabo Morwaeng allegedly tried to influence him to rule against Lobatse legislator, Thapelo Matsheka in a case in which he sought freedom from prolonged detention.
The BDP as a party known to have ample resources has always held its primaries well in time, but this time around that was not the case. The first leg of the primaries was held last weekend, with the final leg being billed for the coming weekend. This time around, the BDP failed to shine in its primary elections.
