Judge threatens to lock up absconding DJ Robby Rob

In an awkward turn of events Village Magistrate Cele Motlaleng threatened to lock up Duma FM station consultant Robin Chivadze (DJ Robby Rob) unless he discontinues his habit of dodging court appearances.

Magistrate Motlaleng "chewed" up Chivadze in court stating that his behaviour was unacceptable and she would have him locked up in jail, together with the officer-in-charge at the Gaborone North Police Station as they seemingly ignored the court's order to present Chivadze before the courts. "Baa ntshamekisa! I should call the station commander and have them locked in prison for five days," Cele fumed.

Chivadze has evaded court appearances more than three times. He is facing a charge of threatening to assault veteran Sidney Baitsile (DJ Sid). The two allegedly had a dispute in 2011 which resulted in Baitsile absconding from work, claiming he feared for his safety. He was then fired indefinitely and later sued the radio station owner, Sayed Jamali over P170,000 for unfair dismissal. The lawsuit was settled at P40,000 in September. Baitsile has claimed that he lives in fear, since being threatened.
