Judge demands evidence from Marina doctors

Justice Isaac Lesetedi has called on three Princess Marina Hospital medical doctors to give evidence in the case in which the Botswana Network on Ethics, Law and HIV/AIDS (BONELA) is suing government for firing an employee.

Minkie Nkobi, a driver of the department of buildings and engineering services had been ordered to undergo a medical examination and was subsequently fired from her job. The reason, according to her employer, is that she was medically unfit to carry out her duties, a claim she refutes.

According to papers filed in court by the applicant's lawyer, Uyapo Ndadi, Nkobi's employer has never shown that she was not in good health and unfit to perform her duties.
