Judge demands efficiency from prosecution

FRANCISTOWN: Justice Mpaphi Phumaphi has cautioned the state against bringing to court files that have no witness statements.

He said that the prosecution should bear in mind that for the court to be able to make informed decisions on applications all the necessary documents must be availed.

Phumaphi was speaking on Wednesday after several applications where brought before him without witness statements but only the investigating officer's affidavit. He said that he could not make a decision based on the affidavit alone.
