Judge asked to show mercy in another crime of passion

FRANCISTOWN: The court must consider that the complainant's infidelity contributed to the actions of the accused, the defence counsel in a case involving attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm, has argued.

Counsel Mogaetsho Keoagile of Keoagile and Associates told Justice Tshepho Motswagole in the Francistown High Court that the complaint's infidelity had contributed to Menaganang Sebopilwe's actions of unlawfully possessing a shotgun and attempting to kill her at Mpatse cattlepost in 2004.

Keoagile asked the court to temper justice with mercy in sentencing his client, who has pleaded guilty to both counts.
