Jobless graduate teachers benefit from strike

The government is wooing recent graduates in education to mitigate the effects of the strike in schools.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Education principal public relations officer, Nomsa Zuze announced in a statement that those who have just completed their studies at the University of Botswana in any education-related field to come forward for temporary employment. The graduates are advised to contact education offices nearest to them to get jobs.

Officials from the ministry recently announced that students will be expected to continue their classes over weekends, and that the coming school holidays will be shortened to make up for what was not covered because of the strike.
