*Blunder costs DPP heavily in Jamali case
The Directorate on Public Prosecutions (DPP) has been cost by yet another deadly blunder in the high profile case against property magnate Seyed Jamali and deputy permanent secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs, Victor Rantshabeng.

The DPP had approached the Court of Appeal (CoA) seeking leave to appeal out of time after they failed to appeal High Court judge Michael Leburu's decision within the stipulated six-week period.

Yesterday CoA Justice Isaac Lesetedi dismissed the DPP's application after he found that they did not follow the laid procedure. Lesetedi has put brakes on the DPP's efforts to try the duo for alleged corruption. CoA was the court of final resort for the DPP and Lesetedi's ruling put to rest the matter for good. In his ruling on November 2011, Justice Lesetedi said the DPP filed notice to appeal against Justice Leburu's decision.
