Jail-Term For Ex-Sales Rep

FRANCISTOWN: A former freelance newspaper advertising representative has been jailed for 18 months after he was found guilty of stealing by servant by a magistrate.

Acting chief magistrate Lorraine Makati-Lesang said she took into consideration that the sickly Moses Ngubevana has an elderly mother and a two-year-old toddler who needs his care. There was every indication in the sentencing that Makati-Lesang took umbrage at Ngubevana's obstinacy in not pleading guilty when he had little or no facts to defend himself.

Throughout the case, he indulged in trivialities, asking irrelevant questions which led to Makati-Lesang constantly trying to guide him on how to cross-examine.
