This is what suspended Bakgatla deputy Kgosi Bana Sekai Linchwe reads into government's announcement that it had de-recognised Kgafela. The de-recognition, he said, was a result of a conspiracy between the vice-president (VP) Mompati Merafhe and some key Bakgatla tribesmen who he said held a clandestine meeting to discuss Kgafela's fate, just a few days before government's decision to derecognise him.

Sekai told Mmegi in an exclusive interview that the Kgosi's Office received information through their sources that Merafhe had called some key Kgatleng community leaders to a clandestine meeting at his office in Gaborone.
