Is UB heading for 'intensive care unit'?

I read the Sebina Exposition, "UB: An extension of state apparatus", Mmegi, Friday 12 October 2007, with some keenness of spirit, coming as it did on the eve of the university's graduation ceremony.

One wonders what Chancellor Dr. Festus Mogae made of the Sebina piece as he revised his speech for the following day. Tiro Sebina, those who have an idea of how he thinks, will tell you that he has a solid intellect. But is his discourse completely meritorious?

Interestingly, it is devoid of any introspection by those who are not amused by the status quo. For me, the charge that the University of Botswana gawks and fawns at the elite to the point of being namby-pamby is grossly padded.
