LOBATSE: The state has alleged irregularities by the presiding magistrate in the corruption case of the former Minister of Justice, Defence and Security, Ndelu Seretse.

Appearing at the High Court in Lobatse, the prosecution complained that their objection of an improper cross-examination of a state witness by the defence had been overruled by Regional Magistrate Barnabas Nymadzabo.

The state argued that the manner in which defence was conducted allowed introduction of inadmissible hearsay evidence prejudicial to the state case. The state was also unhappy that defence was cross-examining its witness Taphudzani Pester Gabolokwe on questions of law whereas he was a witness of fact. The state further complained that the defence was allowed to ask misleading questions.
