The pulling power of a ruling party was felt on Friday when local investors tripped over themselves for the opportunity to dole out to the party ahead of the October general elections.

Domkgrag, as the ruling party is affectionately known among its followers  sold 90 tables for the gala held at Boipuso Hall. It was an over subscription of  20 tables or P200,000. Initially the BDP had  budgeted to sell 70 tables and make P700,000.

There were more pledges of undisclosed amounts, also made on the evening, but unlike many other gala dinners the party has hosted in the past where donors were announced, this time, the BDP corporate friends chose to be anonymous to the media.
