Interchangeable powers as Kapinga awaits fate

As the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) central committee (CC) ponders over the readmission of the Okavango legislator Kenny Kapinga into the party, the national conference which expelled the latter in July could reverse the decision again next year, writes MMEGI STAFFER MOMPATI TLHANKANE.

The BCP national conference held in Mahalapye two months ago took a decision to expel Kapinga alongside Leader of Opposition (LOO) Dithapelo Keorapetse, MP for Palapye Onneetse Ramogapi, MP for Nkange Dr Never Tshabang, and MP for Mahalapye West David Tshere.

This week the BCP announced that Kapinga has applied for readmission into the party, something they will consider. Not long after the national conference showed Kapinga and company the door, the BCP says they are elated to have received Kapinga’s application for readmission into the party, through the party’s Okavango constituency.
