Industrial Court urged to up its game

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Botshabelo West councillor, Kosi Matshaba has urged the Industrial Court (IC) to improve its service delivery to the people.

Speaking during a full council meeting last week, Matshaba said the Industrial Court benefits employers more than employees who are generally the main complainants.

He mentioned that plaintiffs give up easily on matters  they report to the workers' court because they take a long time to be addressed. Matshaba also observed that big companies normally engage lawyers to defend them while employees cannot afford attorneys and called on the government to assist them with attorneys.  He also charged that "the Industrial Court is ineffective".
