Industrial Court has jurisdiction - Maruping

Justice Tebogo Maruping has ruled that the Industrial Court does have jurisdiction to grant application for leave by the Director of Directorate of Public Service Management to implement the Friday judgement of the Court that the essential services participation in the ongoing strike is unlawful.

He adjourned the court to hear the merits of the application by the director and dismissed the points in limine filed by the unions. The unions had filed a notice to appeal at the Court of Appeal against this judgement.

Immediately after Justice Maruping's ruling, the unions filed another notice to appeal at the Court of Appeal.
