Ikalanga Bible Verses Available At Press Of A Button

Traditionally, the Bible is presented in written form. This has made reading the only medium of interaction with the Bible.

In conjunction with the International Bible Society, the United Bible Society, World Vision and other Christian organisations with similar objectives, the Botswana Bible Society (BBS) has recently commissioned the recording of the entire New Testament of the Ikalanga Bible. This was done under the theme: Faith Comes By Hearing.

The two-man recording team was led by Miguel Francisco Martins, the director of Southern African Recording Centre based in Maputo, Mozambique. According to him, a recent survey has shown that with high innocence of illiteracy globally, especially in the so-called developing world, the written text has got limitations as regards to the spread of the Word.
