SEFHARE: President Ian Khama has said that he will ascend the Bangwato throne after completing his political term.

Officially opening the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) National Youth Congress, Khama said dikgosi should not be actively involved in politics.

"When I joined politics I called the traditional leadership in the Central district and consulted them and their communities on my intentions. Fa ke fetsa ke boela ko bogosing," he said. He said that he found it problematic that some dikgosi meddle in politics without due consultation with their people.
