I stand firm by BNF resolutions - Khan

The secretary general of the Botswana National Front Youth League, Arafat Khan, says no amount of threats will make him turn against BNF congress and conference resolutions on co-operating with other opposition parties for the purpose of assuming power.

The assertive youth leader has been suspended from his position by the organisation he leads after he criticised BNF Youth League president, Kagiso Ntime, for publicly denouncing the umbrella model of co-operation adopted by Botswana's major opposition parties.

Unrepentant, Khan says he is ready to be expelled from his position if necessary to protect resolutions of the party's highest decision-making bodies - the congress and the conference."Suspension or expulsion will not change the congress and conference resolutions regarding opposition unity and the umbrella model," he says.
