I quit to avoid conflict of interest - PHK

Former University of Botswana (UB) Council chairman Ponatshego Kedikilwe has disclosed that he left the post to avoid a conflict of interest when he joined politics in 1984.

"I served as chairman of the UB Council from 1978 to 1984.  I left because then I started running for elections. I was avoiding conflict of interest because Parliament is responsible for scrutinising certain things," he said.

Kedikilwe, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mmadinare and Minerals, Energy and Water Resources Minister, was giving a vote of thanks on Sunday at a luncheon hosted for his nephew, Kabo Mosetlha who graduated with a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and a niece, Olorato Mosetlha who obtained a BA degree in Environmental Science.
