'I didn't know,' says Moupo

"I was not aware, nobody called or wrote a letter to inform me about the visit," denied Botswana National Front (BNF) president at a press conference held yesterday at President Hotel in Gaborone.

The BNF leader is reported, by the state media, to have failed to show up at a meeting with Guinea-Bissau Prime Minister, Martinho Dafa Cabi.
Moupo was scheduled to meet Cabi in his capacity as the leader of the opposition, but reports say that the Guinea Bissau leader was treated to a waiting exercise as the opposition leader was no where to be seen.

Moupo expressed great concern about the story carried on Botswana Television News (Btv) revealing that he did not show up to an official meeting that he knew about. "I was never consulted and yet Btv had the nerve to carry such a story," Moupo said.
The BNF publicity chief, Moeti Mohwasa revealed that investigations were underway to establish what really happened. He also expressed discontent that the TV station's Setswana and English news, on which the story was reported, gave two conflicting reports on the issue.
