Huawei launched first telecom congress in Botswana

Embracing the power of 5G (MWC) Barcelona 2023, Huawei hosted its first Telecom Congress in Botswana – launching a series of its innovative simplified network and Data Centre solutions.

ICT industry organisations, government regulators, carriers and students from local senior and tertiary schools were invited to gather in the summit to share experience and exchange viewpoints on key topics.

The Minister of Communications, Knowledge and Technology, Honourable Thulagano Segokgo highlighted the magnitude of the Mobile World Congress held annually. He applauded Huawei for understanding and heeding to the request from the government to improve the ICT landscape in Botswana. “I thank you for taking the initiative of bringing technologies displayed at the MWC to Botswana,” noted Segokgo.
